Bad Bunny’s halftime performance sponsored by Apple Music received many mixed reviews all over the internet, but the majority of people were pleasantly surprised by what was shown on their TVs.
Just a week after his dominant run at the Grammy Awards, Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio was excited to perform, as he’s now the first artist to win Album of the Year and perform at the Super Bowl with no songs in English.
Even those who don’t speak Spanish appreciated many of the messages that Bad Bunny drew attention toward in his performance on Sunday. Some viewers disagreed with his choice not to perform any songs in English, but a large number were surprised either by the Lady Gaga song or the incredible energy and vibes that the show brought with it. According to Bad Bunny himself, “The only thing you need to understand is how to dance and have a good time.”
In summation, the halftime performance that occurred in the midst of a proclaimed “boring” football game and large number of A.I. ads, displayed an incredible amount of parallels to Bad Bunny’s experience at the Grammys, with his most recent trophy making an appearance during the show. Both performances are similar in the sense that they don’t require you to speak Spanish to feel music and its messages. In reality, most of those who were on their feet at the Super Bowl and that award ceremony don’t speak Spanish, but they respect a man and his motivation to bring glory to the American continent as a whole.
