The 68th Grammy awards happened on February 1st, 2026, and with them of course came crazy fashion choices, controversial picks, and plenty of emotional speeches. But here’s a summary of who won the most notable awards.
Record of the Year – Luther by Kendrick Lamar and SZA
A majority of people agree that this song was deserving of this award, the soft R&B tune took popularity in the spring of 2025 and has continued to dominate many radio stations since.
Album of the Year– DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS by Bad Bunny
Instantly receiving a standing ovation when announced, this album is incredible. Released in January of 2025, it’s an extremely emotional album about the fear for the future of his home nation of Puerto Rico, while also experiencing the memories of the past. This was the first song that wasn’t in English to win the award. This was an incredible accomplishment for the man performing in the Super Bowl the following week, and the Latin music community as a whole.
Song of the Year– Wildflower by Billie Eilish
After Billie’s excruciating experience at last year’s Grammy awards, getting snubbed seven times that night, she can finally exhale, as the wait is finally over to receive her tenth Grammy. Many are upset that this came from an album released in 2024 rather than 2025, but regardless of the date, it’s a very deserving song for its award.
Best New Artist– Olivia Dean
Dean was thrilled to be recognized for her hard work over this past year. Her Neo-soul/R&B beats, along with her aesthetically pleasing voice, a lot of her songs feel refreshing. And with this breath of fresh air that she brings, she created new fans along the way. With this award, her career is bound to reach new heights in the years to come. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her back at this award show sometime soon.
Nearly every year this ‘big 4’ list of winners being released typically comes under controversy, but this year, there are not many complaints. It’s extremely rare that we get such an agreement within the community regarding this ceremony, but the only thing people have found frustrating about that night was how political the speeches were. It’s impossible to avoid politics these days, simply because they affect our lives so much, so it’s no surprise that these A-list celebrities use their platform to promote positive changes within our society.
