“Eye In the Sky” is the 6th studio album by British band “The Alan Parsons Project.”
Many listeners believe that it is a concept album; and while the idea isn’t as narrative as many concept albums, it hovers primarily over surveillance and the fear of being watched. The cover portrays the eye of Rah, the Egyptian god of the sun. I’m not quite sure if there is some sort of tie in with the idea of surveillance other than there being an eye. Eye In The Sky won a grammy award in 2019, almost 37 years after its initial release, for best immersive listening album. I didn’t know that was even a category but regardless the album is very immersive while incorporating aspects from a wide variety of genres. This record is a must listen for anybody looking to broaden their musical horizons and be immersed in a plethora of different sounds and musical experiences.
