This opinion may vary based on the person participating. For years, the answer has been yes, hands down. But as time has passed and COVID has become a factor, many more schools have answered: “Not necessarily.” For these schools, the SAT is no longer a determining factor of acceptance, but more of a bragging right.
Now, it might not matter what you score on the SAT, and taking the test is potentially a waste of time in the eyes of some. But to others, it may be the last push they can give to their top school choices in the determining factor of acceptance. But the answer is up to the participating party. Is it worth it?
