Pep Rallies

Abby Cobb, Senior Editor-in-Chief

Pep rallies are supposed to be an event that brings the school together. Students line up in the stands, boasting their school colors, and shouting with pride. The idea of a school pep rally includes fun games that engage the crowd and bring everyone together.

But our school’s pep rallies haven’t fulfilled these qualities. The pep rallies include games that do not include every student nor energize the audience. Instead of doing mediocre activities with a few select participants, we could have a whole school game or fun outdoor games for everyone to participate in.

As a school, we should advocate for better pep rallies, as these alternative activities truly boost school spirit and community. We should be holding school-wide activities that excite everyone, not a game of four that the crowd is forced to watch.
