Congratulations to the lovely class of 2026 for bringing Wahconah an amazing Turkeyfest. This year’s edition brought us wonderful moments of excitement, drama, and sheer talent.
For those who don’t know, Turkeyfest is an annual tradition that happens exactly a week before Thanksgiving at night in Wahconah’s auditorium. It often has an even mix of students from Wahconah’s band (Blood Type Blue), and Wahconah jokesters who volunteered to bring a good laugh via skits, parodies, or showing off anything they want to bring to the stage. It typically lasts no more than two hours, which includes intermission, giving you the opportunity to buy whatever the class in charge decides to whip up. Most people like to come to Turkeyfest to see what our school has to offer in terms of talent and entertainment, to see somebody you barely talk to and say to the person next to you, “Hey I know that kid, he’s pretty good.” Or just to simply cheer on your friends.
This year in particular left us with a large collection of memories, from incredible music to Donald Trump losing his cool. We can’t compliment the students and staff that brought it together any more.
The night primarily consisted of musical talents, but the class of 2026 brought the jungle flare to the night, kudos to Blood Type Blue and Mr. Rabuse.
The first of the individual talents however started with Sammy Ioveino, his national anthem surly blew everybody away, as a thunderous applause followed. Although it was difficult to top the love Sammy received from the crowd, Anthony Redd also threw his breakdancing talent into the mix, which also resulted in a good review from the crowd. After many more beautiful moments brought to you by Blood Type Blue, the time came for the group of seniors led by Sienna Shannon and Jocelyn Bourassa to perform a “Wahconah Friendly” version of Saturday Night Live’s “Domingo” skit, which caused laughter to emerge for the first time that night as it was the first comedic entry thus far. That was until Zack Schneider reappeared after intermission, accompanied by Braedon Melle, Alex Jerebtsov, And Giuseppe Vianna to perform a one direction classic, their attempt was greatly appreciated by those in attendance. But what sent the roof off was when a great performance by Matty Beatty was shortly followed by a debate between Dom Marcella as Donald Trump and Joe Biden, Colby Robb style. The heated argument was the last of the comedians.
Every Turkeyfest thus far has followed one formula, you come for your friends, and stay for the music. This joy-filling night was gracefully handed to us thanks to our hosts Alexandra Rougeau, and Jackson Crow for guiding us through the jungle and finding our way back to Wahconah. All this planning by the advisors of 2026 (Mrs. Arroyo Santos and Mr. Murphy) sets such a high standard for years to come, and we’re all excited to see what’s next for this tradition.
