The National Honor Society’s induction ceremony on the evening of Monday, November fourth followed a school day tapping where soon-to-be inducted juniors and seniors were honored on stage in front of their peers from all grades. The event also included speeches from NHS officers Elizabeth Wheeler, Vienna Mahar, Lillian Cook, and Thomas Celentano, relating to the four pillars of the society: scholarship, service, leadership, and character, and an elaboration on the goals and purpose of the society.
The evening ceremony was of a more intimate nature, with current members giving heartfelt speeches about each new inductee’s personal and academic accomplishments to their friends and families. As the ceremony was conducted, new members came up to sit on the steps on Main Street and join the NHS ranks. The ceremony was opened by Colby Robb, followed by superintendent Leslie Blake-Davis, and Braedon Melle closed out the evening. Baked goods and refreshments were available after the ceremony, provided by the Honor Society. In total, forty three new members were inducted, and to them we offer our most sincere congratulations.
