Our Wahconah volleyball JV and Varsity teams have been putting out some great performances this season. I would highly recommend going to watch our Wahconah Warriors play a volleyball game. We are only half way through the season as of October 2nd, and their record is 8-3, with an average of seventy three percent of games won this season. Our varsity volleyball team has a current average of 47.9 digs per game, while the national average is 35.6 digs per game. A dig in volleyball is when the player stops the ball from hitting the floor by hitting it.
Some of our Warriors’ top performers at the time of writing include seniors Megan O’Bryan and Eve Colombari. Both seniors ranked within the top 3 players of a stat category in the league. Megan O’Bryan ranked 2nd highest hitting percentage in the league with a .251 percent average. She also ranked 3rd in the league for number of kills (points after a successful spike), which for her is currently 80. Eve Colombari is ranked 1st for highest number of assists which, as of right now is 170 assists.
Overall, both our JV and Varsity volleyball teams have had an amazing season. Each and every player has put in so much hard work to lead us to winning games and having fun.
