Club Brochure

  • Newspaper
    • You’re looking at it, people! Hello, this is our student run digital newspaper The Main Street Crier! We try to consistently post about news, sports, entertainment, people at Wahconah, etc. If you are interested in anything from writing to photography to web editing to art to video making, come and join our staff list. 

      Email either Sydney Moriarty, Aidan Garcia, or Mrs. Arroyo-Santos if you are interested in joining.

  • National Honor Society
    • Our honor society is dedicated to finding excelling students who are prominent members in their communities. They work on projects to help the community both together as a group and separately in their own corners of Berkshire County. 
    • Ran by: Mrs. Shannon and Mrs. Gormally
    • Meets: At-least quarterly
    • Requirements: You have to be a Junior or Senior invited to join

 

  • National Business Honor Society
    • The only other honor society offered besides the National Honor Society. The National Business Honor Society is a honor society dedicated to people interested in business and have taken at least three business classes here at Wahconah.

    • Meets: Occasionally
    • Requirements: You have to be a Junior or Senior invited to join

 

  • Apollonian Players
    • Ever watch a play or musical and wonder how that’s done? Find out with the Apollonian Players. The Apollonian Players are always looking for actors, singers, dancers, set builders, lighting and sound special effects artists, etc. 
    • Ran by: Mr. Hoffman and Mr. Therrien
    • Meets: Most days, except Friday (3-5pm)
    • Requirements: Interested in some aspect of theater or performances

 

  • Quiz Team
    • Want to participate in trivia competitions against different Berkshire County schools? Quiz team is the place for you! Practices are at least once a month and competitions are once a month on Wednesday nights! Win or lose, you still get pizza afterwards! Once a year the Quiz Team also goes on the game show As Schools Match Wits to compete in a televised tournament!

    • Meets: Bi-Monthly
    • Requirements: Interested in trivia and pizza

 

  • Robotics Team
    • Do you want to live out your Star Wars dreams of building and controlling droids? Well now you can (kind of) live out that dream in our very own robotics team! Most of the year is spent building a robot to compete in the First Massachusetts robotics competition in February, but they also have competed in the General Dynamics Mission Systems competition in the past.

    • Meets: Mondays and Thursdays
    • Requirements: Interested in technology and/or robots

 

  • No Place For Hate (N.P.F.H.)
    • Do you want to work for positive change? Are you tired or hearing ignorant or hateful things in the hall? Join our student run group who are dedicated to making a difference in Wahconah, our community, and the rest of the world too!

    • Requirements: Dedicated individual who wants to make a difference

 

  • Mock Trial
    • Do you want to live out your Atticus Finch daydreams of destroying your opponent in front of a live court? Look no further than our Mock Trial team! They compete in state wide competitions where people roleplay as lawyers or witnesses. Learn how to cross examine, debate, and stand your case here!

    • Meets: Reach out to Mr. Shannon
    • Requirements: Interested in the law, the court, or debates

 

  • Gender Sexuality Alliance (G.S.A) 
    • Want a safe space to tell people what’s actually been happening in your life? Want to work towards fixing problems affecting the LGBTQIIA+ community? Look no further than G.S.A. 
    • Ran by: Mr. Shannon
    • Meets: Reach out to Mr. Shannon
    • Requirements: Is open and interested in things having to do with the LGBTQIIA+ community

 

  • Best Buddies
    • Want a safe and welcoming space that’s goal is to make sure that everyone can be friends no matter their abilities? Talk to Mr. Sullivan or Mrs. Roy about joining Best Buddies!

    • Meets: Frequently
    • Requirements: Believes that everyone deserves to be treated in a friendly manner

 

  • Tribe
    • Our school spirit club! Have you ever seen people dressing up for “spirit days” and thought: hey, I’d love to choose the topic of the day? Well, now you can!

    • Meets: Reach out to Ms. Drosehn
    • Requirements: Interested in bringing spirit to Wahconah

 

  • Green Umbrella
    • Our school’s environmental club that works on saving the planet from pollution one project at a time! 
    • Ran by: Mrs. Lesage
    • Meets: First and third Monday of each month
    • Requirements: Interested in working against pollution or climate change

 

  • French Club
    • If you ever hear Mr. Robb announce some really good food over the loudspeaker in the morning, it’s probably supplied by the French club! The French Club celebrates everything and anything France related!

    • Meets: certain Tuesdays and Thursdays
    • Requirements: Interested in France or French

 

  • DnD
    • Our student run Dungeons and Dragons club! If you don’t know Dungeons and Dragons, it’s a roleplay fantasy adventure game! They are open and accepting to new members and are excited to see you on their next adventure.

  • Student Council
    • Are you interested in making decisions for the school or planning school dances? Are you interested in decorating the school for dances or picking the themes for the dances? Join the student council!

  • Chess
    • Are you a chess pro that can see eight moves ahead of a checkmate, or maybe you’re just a beginner who’s just learning how the knight moves? From the seasoned grandmaster to someone who just wants to learn to play, the Wahconah Chess Club offers an opportunity for you to play with your friends or just hang out and talk chess.

    • Requirements: Interest in chess or learning how to play chess

 

  • Fortnite team
    • Are you interested in playing Fortnite against friends or foes? Come and join Wahconah’s Fortnite Team.
