Girls Lacrosse
May 17, 2023
The Wahconah Girls Lacrosse team has played the majority of their games already since the season began in March. So far, they have secured two victories over Belchertown, two on South Hadley, and two over Chicopee Comp. The team is striving for a .500 record by the end of the season. In total, the girls’ lacrosse team plays 14 regular season games.
This year, the numbers for high school girls lacrosse players are not nearly enough to fill Varsity and Junior Varsity, teams. To solve this problem, middle school players from Nessacus were called up. They make up the entirety of the JV team and some have the opportunity to sub into Varsity games.
Western Mass seeding happens on May 24th and the team is hoping to make the tournament. There’s also a possibility that the team will enter the tournament for states. Currently, the postseason standings are up in the air.
